I want to thank everybody for all of your support and positive feedback about The Reverie Within The Sound. I’m grateful y’all have been diggin it, the streams and digital album purchases have been flowing steady!
Along with the awesome reception of the album I have been celebrating the news that I have been awarded a 2024 Creative Individuals grant through the Minnesota State Arts Board! Funds from this grant will support me in continuing to showcase the art of music composition with an emphasis on improvisation and artistic expression. This is my second MSAB grant and receiving it is a great honor. I’m so appreciative to be embraced by the greater Minnesota arts community as I go forward sharing my music with the world. The support goes a long way
Like I’ve said before, this music that I’m sharing has been brewing up for quite some time. Several years ago when I began work on this body of material I was at a peak with my playing. Shortly after, I was hit by an illness that took me down to the point where physically I was barely able to play my instruments. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever get my abilities back. Thankfully, after time, healing, adaptation and continued dedication, I was able to build myself back up to the point where I was able to carry on. I’m so appreciative to have been able to heal and to be continuing on this journey. There is much more to come!
For those out there who aspire to share your art with the world, I say keep on going. Sometimes there will be setbacks and circumstances that may make the road rocky, but I believe when we persevere the universe reciprocates in whatever ways it can. Let’s keep on rockin it everyone. Find what you dig and dig it, follow your medicine, follow your roots.
